Flavor Profile:

Bold, refreshing, slightly sweet.

Ingredients:

Espresso, sugar, water, whipped cream

  • 2 shots of Uprise Costa Rican Tarrazu espresso
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Whipped cream (for serving)
  • Optional: Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Preparation Time:

4 hours (including freezing time)

Step 1: Brew Espresso

Brew 2 shots of Uprise Costa Rican Tarrazu espresso using an espresso machine.

Step 2: Make Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Step 3: Mix Espresso and Simple Syrup

In a mixing bowl, combine the brewed espresso and the cooled simple syrup. Stir well to ensure the sugar is fully incorporated into the espresso.

Step 4: Pour Into Container

Pour the espresso mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. The shallower the container, the faster the granita will freeze.

Step 5: Freeze

Place the container in the freezer and let the espresso mixture freeze for about 1 hour.

Step 6: Scrape and Mix

After 1 hour, remove the container from the freezer. Use a fork to scrape and mix the partially frozen espresso mixture. Ensure to break up any large ice crystals that have formed.

Step 7: Freeze Again

Return the container to the freezer and let the espresso mixture freeze for another 1-2 hours, or until it reaches a slushy consistency. Repeat the scraping and mixing process every 30 minutes for the best texture.

Step 8: Serve

Once the granita has reached the desired consistency, spoon it into serving glasses. Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream.

Step 9: Garnish (Optional)

Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder over the whipped cream for an extra touch of flavor and decoration.

Step 10: Enjoy!

Serve the Tango Tango Espresso Granita immediately and enjoy its icy, refreshing, and bold coffee flavor.

Step 11: Notes

You can adjust the sweetness of the granita by adding more or less simple syrup according to your preference. Experiment with different garnishes such as a dusting of cinnamon or a drizzle of caramel for added flair.

Add a touch of passion to your day with this seductive espresso granita inspired by the fiery tango dance. Refreshing and invigorating, it’s the perfect treat for hot summer days.
